2015 Lineup: San Francisco Decorator Showcase

decoratorThe venue for the 2015 Decorator Showcase (rendering above) has been selected and I'm quite thrilled to mark my calendar for one of my most favorite annual events. As I've posted before, the annual public event is a fundraiser for San Francisco University High School, raising over $700,000 last year. 3630 Jackson Street is located in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco and will play host as over twenty-seven interior designers have been selected to transform the home. Mark your calendar from April 25th to May 25th! Read more, here.

SoMA

image2 image1-1I've been eyeing this project on Jack London and Bryant for several months as the space went through a dramatic renovation and is across the street from my office. After bribing the contractors with coffee on my way to the office, they gave me a tour of the space, a spec project in the form of modern commercial space that will be available for lease in just another week or two. This has got Restoration Hardware written all over it - a perfect space for an art gallery, PR agency headquarters or architect's base camp. Prior to the renovation, this space was dilapidated and desperate for attention. I've thoroughly enjoyed working in the SoMA neighborhood of San Francisco and love seeing when projects such as these come to life.

Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 12.38.20 PMThis week, I had such a pleasurable experience at Union Street's finest addition, West Coast Wine (and Cheese). The new post, brings the experiential elements of wine & cheese to our neighborhood in a modest manner, but with the utmost integrity (just one glance at their wine offerings will have you dreaming of the alluring hue of a central coast pinot noir). Inside, you'll find an impressive floor to ceiling display of wines to peruse and take home, sommeliers behind a chic slab of marble counter delivering informative notes on their favorite pairings, and patrons cozied up after a work day with lovers and friends in a nook by the front windows. Above, C&C has noted our most favorite wine and cheese offerings, however to get the full scoop and see the menu in its entirety, visit here. Cheers!

About Town: Aveline

restaurant1 restaurant2 restaurant3 restaurant4 restaurant5menuLast Friday marked the opening of the highly anticipated restaurant Aveline, part of the Warwick San Francisco Hotel's renovation. Behind the restaurant is Chef Casey Thompson, Season Three Top Chef finalist and US Ambassador for Terrazas de los Andes, a Moet-Hennessey brand. The menu is Californian in style, (see above) and the restaurant's interior is clean, inviting, yet formal.  Think glassed-in wine cellar, leather banquettes, lacquered moldings, and modern place settings. Conveniently, Aveline is just a hop, skip and jump away from my office. An in-person investigation just might be in order...
